The core system is therefore developed on an ”open” architecture strategy, with as much “freeware” as possible. The end product is therefore independent of hardware platform, with both the application system and devices providing the flexibility and scalability to adapt to the expected growing traffic needs and requirements.
ecTol ™ is an integrated toll management system with its very unique characteristics that can be further customized for every client’s operation and management style.
ecTol ™ consists of the following core system components that can operate both in a mixed mode “open” or “close” toll environment:-
1.Headquarters Computer System (HQCS)
2. Plaza Computer System (PCS)
3. Lane Computer System (LCS) – Stop and Go
i. Manual (cash) toll collection
ii. Contactless Touch and Go ETC
– Non Stop
iii. Contactless non stop ETC
All modules of ecTol ™ namely front-end, operations and back-end, employ the most recent Internet protocol technologies, thus enabling the application to be accessible via Intranet or internet if required. All communications are either via an industry standard local area network (LAN) for same locality or wide area network (WAN) for systems separated over some distance.
